Bergen Men’s Basketball Earns Road Win at Rowan College South Jersey
Gloucester, N.J. — The Bergen Community College men's basketball team picked up an impressive road victory on Wednesday night, defeating Rowan College South Jersey–Gloucester, 85–71, at RCSJ.
Bergen controlled the game from the opening tip, taking a 43–41 lead into halftime before outscoring the hosts 42–30 in the second half to secure the win. The Bulldogs shot efficiently throughout the night, finishing at 45.6 percent from the field and knocking down 13 three-pointers at a 48.1 percent clip.
Jarris Bertram led all scorers with 20 points while adding five rebounds and three assists. Jayden Rivera delivered a strong all-around performance, scoring 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including three three-pointers, and dishing out five assists. Evan Meberg contributed 18 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Jeremy Polanco added 12 points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Bulldogs also received solid contributions across the lineup, finishing with 16 assists on 31 made field goals and forcing 17 Rowan turnovers on the defensive end. Bergen held RCSJ to 36.4 percent shooting overall and limited the home team to 28.6 percent from three-point range.
